Hors d'Oevres

Mission Statement

Britain’s culinary offerings have always received a lot of bad press, and are often slated abroad as being bland, insipid and uninspired. London, however, has long been a melting pot for a hugely diverse range of cultures and migrant populations. In the past decades, as Brits have developed   a taste for the foreign, the capitol’s culinary landscape has changed beyond all recognition.

Our mission is to eat our way around London’s international cuisines from A-Z , sampling a different nationality for every letter. We hope that in doing so we can show the incredible variety and breadth of what London has to offer. We will source out the best, most unusual and authentic cuisines we can on a recession proof budget.  We hope to prove that the best foods don’t always lie behind the doors of exclusive Michelin star restaurants. In fact, some of London’s most elusive delicacies are served in venues that aren’t much to look at from the outside; because culinary taste doesn’t always match great taste in décor!

So next time you’re out for some eats around the London area, don’t settle for Lemon Chicken from the Golden Dragon or a bargain trough from Chicken Cottage feel inspired to venture  out and try something new!
